march 27th-out of the NICU side

out of the NICU side 3-27-08 Current mood: cheerful
so when we went in to see him this afternoon we found out that in a few mins after we got there they would be moving him out of the NICU side of the room and into the intermediate section (which is closer to the door...they say the closer you are to the door the closer you are to going home). they took the monitor off that keeps track of how much oxygen he is getting as they said we need ot be watching him and not the screen when it goes off cuz at home we wont have a monitor to tell us if he stops breathing...A LOT scary. but he is doing good. he is up to 30 ccs now and i get to go back tonight and bottle feed him again and they are seeing about otmorow having me try and BF him too. so he is moving on up in the preemie world. ;))
now we know it will still be several weeks before he gets to come home but we are moving in the right direction. i am soo proud of my lil guy!

so we went back tot he hospital and they had me try and BF him....didnt go to well. he wasnt having it UNTIL after we decided to just give him the bottle. honestly the bottle is fine with me as it seems easier for him to figure out and he is still so young (gestational wise) that in time he can pick up the BF part. he did AWESOME witht he bottle. even better than he did last night. he went to town on it and drank it all and then wanted more as he kept shoving my hand in his mouth and sucking on it.lol. it was funny cuz he kept giving me this look while he was sucking on my hand like "hey, wheres the milk?!"
Well, i should go as vinny decided to color his face and hands with marker. i am going to try and get a pic of it and ill post later. theres only soo much a two yr old can do in a hotel room.lol.
