April 12th-a relaxing day

update/relaxing day 12APR08 Current mood: refreshed
So 2 days ago for the 2nd time we got told we could take Owen home only to get there and find out he had another episode so now they want to keep him for 3-5 more days (most likely the 5 day sretch). While i am not holding my breath this time it is hard not to get excited about the idea of finally being able to go home and be a family. we are now on day 2 so 3 more to go (or more?)! now dont get me wrong we both are smart enough to know that it is better for him to have had these epidodes while at the hospital vs at home in the middle of th enight when were sleeping and we cant know and rmeind him to breath. if he were closer to 40 weeks they wouldve still let us go home but with a monitor. now i am hoping we wont be here until 40 wks and that we ownt need to go hme with a monitor but whatever can assure his health and well being i best. we are blessed that he is in an incridible hospital with a great team of drs and nurses. oh but this time we are not packing the car until AFTER we get him and leave th ehospital. we are both tired of packing and cleaning only to lug everything back upstairs. its getting old. i told sean its like a BAD April fools joke only it keeps repeating itself and its NOT April fools day.ugh!
so yesterday we had to drive out to the island to get osme stuff for sean as he left work the other day and went home to get in civis and came down thinking we were going only not to leave so he was in the same clothes for 3 days and didnt even have a toothbrush on him. eeewww!LOL. so we went to get him stuff and drop off stuff we have that we dont need. it was sad when we got there i asked vinny where we were and he said "i dont know!" and when we got int here he was scoping stuff out like he had never seen it and then just sat there looking around. i felt soo bad for him. i still do. so while driving back i came up with an idea for the next day (today). Since we knew it would be nice i suggested we go to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium so vinny could do something fun after all he's been through and that sean and i could use a relaxing day as well after all this "youre going home today" only not too. he agreed.
this morning we went and checked on owen and then headed to the zoo. there was onoy an hr until it closed but we paid and went in anyways. vinny had soo much fun. he loved the fishes and his fav is still th ebaluga whale. we brought him to see the monkeys as he kept asking for them and one went swinigng real fast rght in front of him (behind the glass of course) and it scared hiim so he freaked out and wanted nothing else to do with the monkeys.lol. he also wanted to see the elephants so we went and did that and when it started walking closer to the gate vinny started stepping backwards real fast (almost tripped over the stroller behind him) and whispered "Oh My Goodness!" Sean and I laughed. it was soo cute. oh and he loved the "BIG kitty cat" (AKA Tiger). He didnt want to leave form waching it run around and go in the water. so all in all it was a fun day and hte best part...vinny passed out as soon as we got into the car...the perfect way to end such a beautiful day! WE NEEDED THIS!
As for Owen he is doing good. day two of no episodes and still eating like crazy. he is 4 lbs 11 oz (exactly 2 lbs more than he was when eh was born one month and one day ago). Growing like a weed! ;)
i took more pics of owen today in a new outfit and some while we were at the zoo. ill post them soon.
